Mignon’s Journal – Entry Four
Entry Four: Spring – Year 847 of the 4th Age.
The party sure is getting interesting. I no longer feel like the odd girl out. With the addition of a lich, his golem and a mercenary with questionable morals, the team is finally in proper form to get things done.
I had hoped lich Tulock would be a powerful ally, be he still seems to be his old useless self. He does have his golem, #4, with him though. She doesn’t seem fully under his control, which is something I find most disconcerting. I’ll be treating her well just in case she goes rogue. Sir Tulock is a hard one to read. He appears to be a bumbling idiot, but every once in a while he will do something that makes me think it is all an act. I’m not sure as to what his motives could be, but he is likely up to no good. I don’t fear him though. I just don’t think he would hurt me.
And then there is Sir Zane, the mercenary. I need more allies like him. Money motivates him. He does what we need of his without any drama or nonsense. I like this guy, he is sort of like Sir Ragna, but he talks. Too bad I can’t afford to keep him around after this quest.
Speaking of Sir Ragna, he’s my favorite party member. He isn’t evil, but he does what needs to be done. I wouldn’t mind working with him for a long time to come, and for me that’s rare. He never talks, so it’s hard to get a read on his thoughts. He’s definitely head-strong and stubborn. He seems to forget that he has allies. He has me there for him. I’m not much, but I can at least help keep him not dead. I also don’t really know what he is. He’s tall and sparkly. I think I heard someone call him a Maenad once. I have no idea what that is, but they seem to have strange powers. He’s an enigmatic one, yet at the same time a well needed constant among a party who can never make up their minds.
Then we have Ms. Shere, a cleric of Quercitrin. Obviously our relationship is tumultuous at best. We’re usually on opposite ends of a decision. The thing that bothers me is that the party seems to do whatever she wants, the reason I shouldn’t ever even bother to express an opinion. She isn’t all holier-than-thou or preachy anymore, that’s nice. Hopefully our new additions help shift the balance a bit.
Lastly, Ms. Fossilu and Ms. Ashal are to be filed under “otherâ€. I don’t have much to say about them. I don’t interact with Ms. Fossilu much, but she seems to be pretty loyal. I don’t know what I did to earn that. Her morals keep her from being truly useful though. She has gotten me out of a few tight spots, and I appreciate that. Ms. Ashal is the party member I know the least. I know she is evil and probably has a hidden agenda, but she is functionally good and seems to side with Ms. Fossilu and Ms. Shere on the “let’s be stupid and generous†side of things.
Anyway, it seems like time for a fresh start. I think I’ll be leaving this group once we recover the Sword of Kas. I’ve been with them for too long, and I am starting to become too attached…
