Sunshine, I Imagine

I told myself I would cease this unseemly behavior,
but I just can’t help myself.
You prop me up from coward to savior.
The world ain’t so rough when I’m with you.

If I could sail past this soul-bonded favor,
I might just get by fine.
But I don’t see a life that’s worth living,
In which I’m not by your side.

Inevitably I start to dine on all the good thoughts and the bad.
It circles, it stews, it bubbles with flavor
that makes me want to cry tears long since dry.

If I maybe just bash my head against this solid carbon wall,
It could all go away.
My liquid dreams will turn into solid screams,
And everything will be just fine.

This is the natural state of things.
This is the natural state of things.
In this lovely, funny, horror dream,
This is the natural state of things.

We are two objects of opposing matter,
I wonder what would happen if we smashed together.
